Log Book

If you've been a passenger with Sea Harris on one of our boat trips to St. Kilda or other Hebridean Islands then we'd love to have feedback from you.   If you like you can attach a picture from your trip with us and share what we think is some of the most spectacular scenery in the British Isles.  You can also pin where you're from to the Guest Map and show that St Kilda really is a international destination.

Wonderful experience, great trip and all in glorious weather. John and Peter were very friendly, helpful and attentive hosts. The complete trip surpassed expectations. 18th July was our first time on the archipelago and certainly won't be our last. We will without doubt be booking our next trip through Seamus and Sea Harris

Thanks to John and Peter for a fabulous trip to St. Kilda. My Mum's life long ambition was to visit and she was absolutely ecstatic to have fulfilled that dream and I was delighted to accompany her. What an amazing experience for us both, topped off by both the fabulous ginger bread and the stunning sail round the sea stacks. Thanks to John for his care, knowledge and great sense of humour.

Our day trip to St Kilda was a brilliant success in every respect. We loved the sea journey (not too rough), the main summit (Marilyn No 810 for us), the Soay sheep, the cleits, the St Kilda wrens, the close-up views of the sea stacks, the knowledgeable commentary by John, the situation 50 miles out into the Atlantic - everything (including of course the ginger cake). Our long-held ambition to visit this place was well and truly satisfied.

A wonderful experience. St-Kilda is breathtaking!
John and Seamus are great team and really look after you.
Unbeatable (and that goes for the homemade gingerbread as well)
Thank you so much for this great day!

I have recommended this trip to everyone I've spoken to and bored them with my photos.  The weather was amazing so thanks for arranging that for us.  I'm really glad I tried out the on board toilet experience - not to be missed (no pun intended!)  I thought this trip might be a once in a lifetime one, but I could easily make it twice.  Amazing!  Thank you Seumas and John

Because of the demand, we were placed on standby but were lucky enough to get a message from Seumas that we had seats the next day.
Seumas and John were very friendly, referring to us by name, and knowledgeable, giving us valuable insights.
Visiting the village was moving. Jack is from Melbourne where the bayside suburb of St Kilda is a thriving cosmopolitan hub, far from its namesake.
But the undoubted highlight for us was the trip around the stacs. Innumerable seabirds - great spectacle!

Words cannot easily describe the experience of a visit to St Kilda, which is fantastic, but this is enhanced by going with Seumus and John of Sea Harris. They are the perfect hosts aboard the boat 'Enchanted Isle' and Seumus's expertise and seamanship instils utter confidence as well as allowing a 'Grand finale' of getting up close and personal with the sea stacks of Boreray. John is equally attentive and also very informative. So - don't hesitate - book your trip with Sea Harris!

I was lucky enough to get aboard the sturdy Sea Harris vessel from Leverburgh and venture onto the high seas to St.Kilda.
Could not believe my eyes opened and we were in Village Bay before 11 am-thought I was dreaming!
John and Seamus are an exceptional team and look after everyone so well
Sharing knowledge, wondrous stories and genuine concern for each individuals comfort and well being
A once in a lifetime magnificent experience and not to be beaten.

What a fabulous day we had on our trip with Seamus and John. Whilst on the boat their attention to detail and safety was excellent. Their knowledge of the wild life and the history of the islands and the people who lived there was amazing and the scenery absolutely breathtaking, the hot drinks and gingerbread on arriving back onboard was a lovely touch. We have waited a long time to make this trip and we were not disappointed.

Our trip on 2nd June was a magical adventure with Seumas and John. The atmosphere on Hirta as we arrived in the mist was awesome.  Both Seumas and John paid close attention to our comfort and safety at all times. John's expert knowledge of wildlife as we rounded the Stacs proved interesting and most informative. The tea and gingerbread was a master stroke. Thank you to Seumas and John for an amazing day with lots of wonderful memories. We will certainly be recommending Sea Harris to everyone.

Seumas and John, what can I say?
What a wonderful job you both are doing, I had an absolutley magical experience today on St Kilda which was helped by both your warm sense of humour and your attention to the safety and well being of your passengers. John thank you for all your knowledge about the islands during the trip.  Seumas thank you for the safe skippering of the boat and your professional commitment by email when initially booking the trip. Film to follow soon.

What a magical place, Seumas and John even managed to get the sun to shine and smooth out the Atlantic for our crossing.  If you are planning a trip to St Kilda then I can't imagine a nicer pair of guys to take you there.  They were very friendly, knowledgeable and provided refreshments with some fab cake. Thank you.

On the 30th May 2014 we were so fortunate to have great weather and flat calm seas for the sail with Sea Harris to St.Kilda for the trip of a lifetime.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit especially visiting the stacs where the gannets were so numerous they darkened the skies above. Thank you John for sharing your knowledge, stories and a cracking cup of tea with us and to Saemus's mum for the ginger cake it was lovely. We have recommended Sea Harris to all our friends. cheers  Calum & Hamish.

Travelled to St Kilda on 19th May with Sea Harris and had an amazing day, one that I have been planning for years. I would definitely recommend Sea Harris if you are planning a visit. The boat holds 12 inside with room to go outside on deck for the views, so not too crowded. Seumas and John looked after everyone on board really well and ensured we all had a good trip there and back. John's tea isn't bad either. 4.5 hours ashore with a trip around Boreray and the stacs too. 5 stars *****

A most wonderful trip and worth every penny.  The village on Hirta has an atmosphere to match its history - quite special and the trip around the stacks was amazing. Seumas and John could not have been more helpful and informative and the tea and ginger cake on return to the boat - what can one say!  If you are thinking about it - do it!!

I went on the St. Kilda trip with my 14 year old son.  We are from Los Angeles and were visiting the UK for 3 weeks.  We started in London and did a 2-week road trip through Scotland and Northern Ireland and my son and I both think that the St. Kilda trip was the single best day of our Holiday.  Hiking on St. Kilda and the boat trip around Boreray and the Sea Stacks are awesome!

If you really want to go to “the middle of nowhere” on “the trip of a lifetime”, consider visiting St. Kilda with Sea Harris Boat trips.  The trip takes close to 3 hours each way, even in a high-speed boat.  The archipelago is one of the most important bird sanctuaries in the UK.  And St. Kilda is a look back into pasts human habitation.  Skipper Seumas Morrison and first mate John do everything they can to ensure your comfort and safety.  But prepare yourself wisely for 3 hours on the open sea!
